phacon`04 meeting report it all happened in the Prague/Czech republic during one nice sunny weekend of 2004's year. ellvis/zt (yeah, that's me:) was sitting in one small pub in the Dejvice - part of Prague town. he was waiting for some czech Specy people, who were going to meet in another pub to have a beers and talks about the only one important thing on this planet. when ellvis finaly met them (sometimes it's not very easy if underground have too much of exits:), it was bunch of 4 people. Zilog (author of divIDE, cfIDE, dithvIDE and so and so and so), Shrek&Logout (authors of provocative ATTrapa demo), Velesoft (author of various hw additions for Speccy and also Pentagon emulator for classic Speccy 128k) and ellvis (lamer). this bunch of strange people (well, it's always easy to recognize Speccy people on the street, because they have usually very strange talks and also very strange things:) reached the con place - pub "nad sarkou". travelling with tram was fine - all the tram was reserved for Spectrists. in pub was reserved table for cca 10 people and there was already waiting Tritolsoft. first thing was a dinner, because humans need to eat. very soon people unpacked all the hardware around the table - Velesoft had his Speccy 128k, Shrek had his Palm (with Speccy emulator, of course), Tritol and Zilog had cfIDE and divIDE and some other small pieces of hw. after a while came +GAMA with his PSION (also with Speccy emul) and then came DIZZY (he's czech speccy person, not the one from Moscow) and finaly X-Agon. talks were mainly about hw - Velesoft made a hw emulator of Pentagon so he was describing how it work, Zilog was talking with Trito about some changes (debuging) of divIDE, X-Agon was talking about his tryings to make a routine which use AY sound and beep sound at once, ellvis was just using a lot of dirty words and Shrek too (i guess:). all people drunked a lot of beers and when pub was closed, PhaCon was over. it was a small meeting, but it was little unusual and that's great. but still, some people (+GAMA, Velesoft and ellvis) came to Logout's room to continue - Velesoft showed how his Pentagon emul work (well, it really work!), +GAMA finished ZX Magazin and we watched 2 parts of Futurama and a part of Prates from Silicon Valley. ellvis and Logout went sleep, but +GAMA and Velesoft were working untill morning. in the morning came again Zilog and all people went to a burse. you can buy there really everything - from old notebooks, cheap HDD's (good for Speccy) to some food. people were selling there everything what they feel is useles for them. from there people came to a pizzeria for a lunch. and put all the hardware on the table and then surprise - in next table was sitting a legend - FUXOFT! he heard the talks about Speccy and was unable even to eat - he was pretty shocked that someone still use that old computer! well, it was a nice end of all the PhaCon 2004. it was a nice meeting, making all this grey life a little colourful. :) for sure scene need a lot such meetings! ellvis |
