The Forever5 report for the fuckin'-delayed zine ;-)

Hi. Jeffie asked me to write a report from Forever5 party which I've been to some days ago. I think why not. So, let's begin.

This year, I travelled to Trencin on Saturday although I know the party starts just on Friday afternoon. I think I didn't miss too much, because people said there were not too many people at the party place and the most of them arrived on Saturday. We went to Forever with TDM. When we arrived to the town under the big castle, we went right to the party place but suddenly we met some known faces. It was the whole 8-bit Front, the organisers of AY-Riders' concerts from Poland. They were with Gasman and they were looking for some comfortable restaurant. We recommended them Koliba, which was quite near and it is our favourite one in Trencin. Then we went on to the party. At the party place were about 30-40 people. The Speccy corner was on the right side under the platform and it was quite big. There was diZZy, P0KE, Omega, Tritol, Nairam, Shrek, Logout, Sweet Factory, Tornado, Dr0n, Aragorn, z00m, 8bit Company and many more freaks including Slovaks like the whole Zeroteam (with SS) and some people who came later - Baze, Spaz, Blacker, etc. I recognized also LCD from Austria. Behind them was bunch of Commodore freaks and on the opposite side was the Atari nest of Satantronic group. There were two beamers (!) and some people played a deathmatch in Microprose Soccer on C64. The organisers told that there will be an evening compo in Way Of The Exploding Fist on Speccy, but it had been cancelled for some technical reasons, unknown to me. Then begun some Atari demo projection presenting their best demos including Numen and other cool ones. But it was late noon and we were hungry so we went to Koliba and had some good food. After some time Zilog arrived directly to Koliba. We were a good time with some beer and we went back to party. There were more people already. Some of them were making fast compo entry, some of them were only talking or boozing. Great time! I liked it.

I met here my Dutch C64 friend with some non-scene mate, we went to a pub which is near the party place together with some Speccy freaks and we had a really funny time. Then we returned to the place and had some more bottles of beer :) I've also decided to put one of my older and unfinished C64 songs to the compo, because I didn't have any C64 entry this year. So I did but thanks God it placed 7th then :) I also got to know hungarian C64 guyz from Singular Crew, namely Leon (watch his picture! It rocks!) and Poison. Then the compo started with ZX musics. I will not comment the compo entries because Jeffie and megus already did it. I can only say that I didn't expect that I will win again. This shows that if you choose a good and well known music theme you can be successfull.

The interesting thing was that the orgs switched between both beamers by removing a piece of paper in front of them :) Both were turned on - on one was Speccy and on the second Atari and Commodore. What I really loved was the demo for VIC-20, Megus' and Jeffie's ZX musics, Gasman's nice demo and 6channel music intro, Jammer's C64 single frame (!) music, Leon's C64 picture and Raster's Atari demo, which was really funny in case you know The Matrix movie. The compos ended at about 0:30 on Sunday. I was really tired and I imagined my long travel back home so I went to sleep, but some hardcore freaks (Hi Gasman!) went to some night bar and they were boozing there up to about 5 o'clock morning!

On Sunday I grew up at 8 and I had to leave the party. I asked the orgs to give me some prices (if I won) and I did!!! So I didn't catch the pricing ceremony :(. I hope next year we will have CZ/SK border a little more opened because of EU so people can bring some more hardware without problems and stupid lists of things they're carrying. Next year I should have a car so I hope I will be more active at the party because I was really tired by travelling hundred kilometers in a bus.

Anyway, the party was cool and there is really no reason to discontinue it or to stop supporting it :) Thanks to everybody for having a cool party time and see you again in 2005!
