Adaptation of Adv#14.

!!!ATTENTION DON'T EVEN TRY TO USE EMULATOR WITH THIS .tap. IT
WONT WORK BECAUSE IT WAS MADE SPECIALY FOR WORK WITH DISK OR
SOMETHING LIKE THAT. BUT IF YOU HAVE STRONG DESIRE TO USE AN
EMULATOR, DOWNLOAD .trd IMAGE!!!

Base zip contains 2 .tap images. (adv#14.tap and adv#14_2.tap)
First tap contains all english articles, outfit, intro and
attachment files.

And in the second one you can find all russian articles, so if
you are not russian language lover, you have the rights not to
copy this files.

First of all you should copy all files which you want to have
(don't forget about outfit files and intro) from .tap to your
disk.

!!!Another one important moment. If your dos reports error
while loading non-existent files it will very problematically
for you to load an article, I hope your dos will ignore these
tryings, if not try to connect with adventurer hq and get fixed
version (if it will be)!!!

Secondly you should modify some files, I think all basic files
need to have some modifications. I must say that this version
of mag was specially made for use with different disk operation
systems, so I made all save/load operations based on standard
basic. And all what you need to do is to add some commands
before or instead of standard LOAD/SAVE. Here is an example of
this:

 LOAD "loadcode" CODE

Hm, I think you all know what this means, this command should
load a code block named "loadcode". So, and to adaptate this
for TR-DOS I wrote:

RANDOMIZE USR 15616: REM: LOAD "loadcode" CODE
^_________________________^

This ^ prefix used to work with disk. So, I suppose that every
DOS have something like this, and every user of this DOS knows
what it should be.

Now, I think, you have basic knowledge about save/load
operations of Adv#14. Its time to modify loader and main
save/load part.

I think it is easy to modify the loader,it was named "adv#14"...
There are only LOADs and RAND USRs, nothing special.

And now lets look at the main save/load part. Here it is:

      10 RANDOMIZE USR VAL "41504"
      20 STOP
30 LOAD "loadcode" CODE VAL "16384"
      40 GO TO NOT PI
50 SAVE "savecode" CODE VAL "16384", VAL "16384"
      60 GO TO NOT PI

!!!this file should be written with autostart on line 10, if by
any reason it hadn't started, type GO TO 10 (not RUN)!!!

You see, there is nothing special, so you just need to add
prefixes (or something else) in line 30 and 50.

Rules and advices:

1. Do not modify lines numbers, but you can add you own lines,
for example 11,35,58,etc.

2. Do not modify all between "loadcode"/"savecode" and end of
the line (I mean code val "16384" and code val "16384", val
"16384").

3. Try to use VAL "12345" constructions, because it'll take
less bytes than just 12345 (I think you know this...).

4. Try to make you program as short as possible, because stack
pointer is set to #5FFF (24575) and also program use some bytes
near address #5F00, so you program needs to be low than #5f00.

5. Try to save all modified basic files with autostart, because
it'll make you life easy.

6. I think, you understood that there is no any kind of error
control, that's why try to avoid of disk errors or pressing
break while disk running.

So, as I said above there is TWO basic programs, first is the
loader, and the second one is the main save load/part. Firstly
the loader will execute, and then main save/load part will
execute. The Loader will switch you machine to 48k mode with
opened #7ffd port (it allow to switch pages using OUT command
from basic, as I know, 128k mode have some problems with
it...), then it'll load all necessary files to memory and run
main save/load part.

So I think this is all...

But if nothing helps, try to connect with me using e-mail:
alffcpu@mail.ru, and describe your problem as detailed as
possible.

bye, and if you have original zx-printer don't forget switch it
off ;)

alff/cpu

p.s. In any way if zine do not even try to start (hang on or
restart computer) then try to run it from 48k mode with open
7ffd port (type usr0 in 128 basic).

Another one problem will wait you if you nevertheless decide to
use an emulator. RealSpec by any reason display a tape loading
error, I don't know why, but R80 emulator works fine. But I
again call you do not use any kind of emulation software, in
any other ways all our work will be useless, in my opinion.

Finally if you successfully loaded zine and moreover read some
articles, but unexpectedly on loading of another article
everything is hanging on, I can say only... hm, shit happens...
reload zine.
